From Pebble to Polished: How Challenging Conversations Enrich Relationships

In today's social landscape, even simple conversations can feel akin to standing at the edge of a minefield.  And while avoiding difficult topics may seem like the safest option, deep connection requires vulnerability and courage to engage with one another in authentic and genuine ways that promote connection, resilience, learning and growth. Today's keynote and afternoon workshop will explore how God calls us into Christian community in ways that honor the varied experiences and gifts of God's people and equip us for humble, courageous, grace-filled communication that builds healthy relationships, fosters connection and encourages the growth of individuals, friendships, family relationships and  the communities we participate in.

Speaker Bio:

Over the past 20 years, Deacon Beth Anderson has worked with people of all ages - youth, young adults, & young-at hearts - as they discover and discern who they are called to be and strive to live out that calling with integrity and authenticity. She is convinced that every person is created with unique gifts, talents and characteristics, claimed by a God who loves them, and called to share their fullness with the world in community.  Equipping and empowering leaders has been central to her previous roles on synod staff, in campus ministry, and as a youth director, and she continues that work as the founder of Centered Growth Coaching and Spiritual Direction.  Trained as both a spiritual director and coach, Beth understands the complexity, joys, & challenges of ministry and life. Like you, she tends a variety of vocations including parent of 2 teenagers, spouse, daughter, friend, community member and more, all while seeking to incorporate practices that keep her rooted, grounded, and grateful to be on her own journey of centered growth.
